In 1964 a joint-venture was established between 'Koninklijke Textielfabrieken Nijverdal - Ten Cate NV' now: Royal Ten Cate and 'Blijdenstijn Willink NV'. From that time on the interlinings in which the company has specialized would be developed and manufactured by the name of Pour Messieurs. This name later degenerated to Permess and in 1998 it was officially changed to Ten Cate Permess. 

Throughout the years, Permess expanded strongly and founded sales offices in Italy, Hong Kong, China and United Kingdom.

After a take over from the shares by the Management of Permess and Multistiq in December 2005, Ten Cate Permess continued to trade officially as “Permess bv" again.

In April 2007, a new sales office in Turkey was opened.
